Felienne Hermans

Felienne is associate professor and is the head of PERL. Felienne is interested in understanding how we can teach everyone to programming, with a special emphasis on programming for children and underrepresented groups, such as women and children with a disability. She is interested in the possible ways in which people van be confused about programming (called: misconceptions) and how insights form cognitive science can help us improve teaching programming

Felienne is also a host of SE radio, one of the most popular software engineering podcasts on the web. When she is not coding, blogging or teaching, she is probably knitting, running or playing a (board)game.
