Sabiha is postdoc researcher at the The Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science. She received her PhD at Middle East Technical University in 2015 in Computer Education and Instructional Technology Department. In the dissertation, she did research on the effectiveness of educational mobile app used for students with intellectual disabilities. Sabiha is interested in programming education and usability of instructional technologies.
She was involved in different experimental and descriptive research projects on programming education. She is currently working as part of a team on the NRO project with the title of “Computational Thinking in context: a teaching and learning trajectory for primary and secondary education”. In the scope of this project, they are planning to support schools and teachers through practice-oriented research, by developing suitable computational thinking learning objectives for primary and secondary education, as well as teaching and learning strategies fostering the acquisition of these objectives.
